2021 - Teacher of the Year
Erin Anderson

A 20-year veteran educator, Erin Anderson teaches fifth grade at Tennerton Elementary in Upshur County. She received a B.A. in Elementary Education from Wesleyan College and a M.A. in Reading from West Virginia University. Anderson connects with students during Move It Mondays, a mileage club she started at the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year. Students stay after school once a week –rain or shine –to walk and/or run alongside her. The time she spends with students outside the classroom not only strengthens relationships, but encourages lifelong healthy habits. Although she is a veteran educator, she continues to teach with zeal and enthusiasm every day.
