About Us
The Office of School Improvement provides a framework for continuous improvement for all schools utilizing the West Virginia Standards for Effective Schools and provides support for Comprehensive Support & Improvement (CSI) Schools. CSI schools are identified based on the WV Balanced Scorecard efficiency indicators as required by West Virginia’s Consolidated State ESSA Plan. Technical assistance and on-site supports for identified schools are guided by the Diagnostic Review process.
Focus areas include assisting counties and schools with strategic planning and selecting evidence-based strategies, providing guidance for the targeted use of federal funds, promoting educator growth and best practices in shared leadership, as well as decreasing chronic absenteeism statewide.
