Special Education Data and Public Reporting
The Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act 2004 (IDEA) requires states to submit data and to annually report data on the status toward meeting indicator targets. Data is submitted by local school districts to determine the distribution of state and federal education funds and to help educators improve student outcomes.

Stakeholder Meetings
The WVDE has leveraged the increased use of virtual and hybrid meeting platforms to extend parental involvement in setting targets, analyzing data, developing improvement strategies and evaluating progress. Below are the initial presentations made for target setting. Additional stakeholder meetings are held in-person quarterly on a rotating basis to serve multiple regions within the state of West Virginia. This format is intended to solicit regular public feedback and strategy development representative of the state demographic profile.
