This office oversees Elementary and Secondary Education Act and Individuals with Disabilities Education Act funding, and improvement efforts for schools statewide through the West Virginia Standards for Effective Schools framework. These efforts include school and county strategic planning, guidance with federal funds, educator growth, and leadership best practices.

Office responsibilities also include:

  • Managing county school system funding allocations
  • Facilitating dispute resolutions
  • Assisting county school systems with meeting program requirements
  • Compliance monitoring
  • On-site support for schools identified by the Diagnostic Review Process
