Pre-K

Creating a foundation of growth for West Virginia's young children

Research shows that high-quality early education experiences, teacher continuity, and other social and health services significantly benefit a child's cognitive and social development and well-being.

Since 2002, West Virginia has been a national pioneer in developing and maintaining statewide Pre-K programs for all three- and four-year-olds with special needs. Today, we offer universal Pre-K in all 55 countries, and we continue to strengthen our early childhood education programs based on the latest research and state law.
