Learn what is required to implement computer science at the elementary, middle, and high school level.
Elementary
The content area for elementary students is Computer Science. This, along with Integrated Technology, will be delivered within all content areas.
Requirements
Students must complete the following courses:
Integrated Technology.
Computer Science K-5.
Additional Information
Students will have regular opportunities within other coursework to master the K-5 grade-band standards set forth in W. Va. 126CSR44N, Policy 2520.14, West Virginia College- and Career-Readiness Standards for Technology and Computer Science (Policy 2520.14). Through digital literacy, and computer science and technology skills, students will have many opportunities to meet the K-5 grade-band standards by the end of 5th grade.
Middle School
The content area for elementary students is Computer Science. This, along with Integrated Technology, will be delivered within all content areas.
Requirements

Computer Science 6-8.
Discovering Computer Science or a county-created computer science course.

High School
High school students must take one computer science course. The following are additional course options:

Web Development.
Courses based on student's need and interests.
Career technical education computer science/IT courses.
