Career and Technical Education Permanent Advanced Credential

Summary of Requirements

Permanent Advanced Credentials may be issued to individuals with a Professional Teaching Certificate or a Career and Technical Education Certificate, teaching career and technical education content areas identified in WVBE Policy 5202 and the Career and Technical Education Endorsements and Testing Manual on the WVDE website.

Full Requirements

Initial Application

  • Validity Period: Permanent
  • General Requirements: US Citizen or hold eligible documentation (see WVBE Policy 5202); good character; age 18; physically, mentally, and emotionally qualified. See the content specific conditions for issuance as identified in WVBE Policy 5202 and the West Virginia Career and Technical Education Endorsement and Testing Manual maintained on the WVDE website (including industry credentials and work experience, as applicable).
  • Employment Required: Yes
  • Official Recommendation: Receive the recommendation of the employing Superintendent, Multi-County Vocational Center Director, ODTP Director or designated official in the WVDE Division of Career Technical Education & Governor’s Economic Initiatives.
