Many students who attend WVSDT facilities are behind their grade-level cohorts. The Option Pathway Program provides the flexibility our students need to catch up on credit deficiencies. Option Pathway combines a CTE (Career Technical Education) or CIEL (Career Integrated Experiential Learning) Program of Study with the GED exam to earn a high school diploma. Option Pathway requires students to obtain four credits of CTE or Experiential Learning to complete the program.
Option Pathway: Blend of CTE courses and GED preparation classes to receive diploma
CIEL: Blend of Career experiential learning and GED preparation classes to receive a diploma.
Additionally, there are 2 other option programs tracks available to WVSDT students;
Credit Recovery: Designed for 12th grade students to recover credit in one failing content area
Opportunity: Designed to allow students who have decided to drop out a chance to earn the WV High School Equivalency Diploma
