Established in 2023, the Reentry Initiative is designed to help those completing their education and transitioning out of the facility by connecting individuals with partner agencies and programs before reentry to their communities.
How We Do It
The West Virginia Schools of Diversion & Transition has implemented a comprehensive strategy to support individuals transitioning out of our facilities. Integral to this strategy are our dedicated Reentry Liaisons who engage with individuals enrolled in educational programs and nearing reentry to their communities.
The Reentry Liaisons play a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless transition by forging connections with partner agencies and programs in advance of the student's release. Through proactive engagement, they meticulously pair individuals with tailored resources, support networks, and opportunities, thereby empowering them to navigate the complexities of reentry with confidence and efficacy.
