Professional Certificate Degree/Advanced Salary Classification

Applicant Requirements

General Requirements: 

• US Citizen or hold eligible documentation (see WVBE Policy 5202)
• Advanced degree recognition and advanced salary levels include: BA, BA15, MA, MA15, MA30, MA45, and Doctorate level;

Education Requirements:

• Valid WV Professional Certificate or equivalent.
• Recommendation from superintendent or Form 4B for salary class.
• For advanced salary/advanced degree purposes, all coursework must be reflected on an official transcript of an appropriately accredited college or university. Passing grades are required. To send official transcripts to our office, please have your educational institution submit them directly to us at cert.transcripts.wvde@k12.wv.us. Transcripts must be received from the institution and not the applicant.

Application Instructions

If this is your first time using the WVDE Certification Portal, you will need to register. Follow the instructions for first-time applicants.

1. Log in to the portal to complete the form.
2. If your application does not require county/institutional approval, proceed to payment. If your application does require county/institutional approval, you will receive an email once it is approved with instructions for online payment. 

Applications will not be processed by the Office of Certification until the online payment has been processed. You may follow the status of your application on the Certification Portal.
