New Site Launch
We are thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of our newly redesigned wvde.us website, created to enhance your experience with more intuitive navigation, improved accessibility, and a host of new features. Below you will find detailed information about our phased launch approach and what you can expect during each phase.
Launch Schedule
A phased launch is scheduled to allow organization leaders to communicate changes to users who depend on wvde.us services every day. A week-long soft launch is open to WVDE employees followed by a publicly available soft-launch announced on wvde.us. An official hard launch, wherein the old wvde.us is archived and replaced, will occur in mid-February guided by feedback during the soft launch phases.
Launch Phase | Date |
---|---|
Soft Launch (Internal) | January 22, 2025 |
Soft Launch (Public) | January 29, 2025 |
Hard Launch | TBD Mid-February |
Stability and Training | 0-3 Months Post Hard Launch |
Preview and Feedback
In this initial soft launch phase, internal users will be given access to review and acclimate themselves to the new wvde.us. This preview period is essential for gathering feedback and ensuring our updates meet our users' needs. Feedback will be categorized and prioritized using the following guidance.
Critical Bugs and Technical Issues
Issues related to the availability of the new site are urgent and given the highest priority. When reporting an issue, please review and follow our guidance so we can ensure swift resolution.
How Do I Report a Website Issue?
Employee Directory
A new change to the employee directory includes the public availability of employee portraits. Room numbers and direct phone numbers are still private and only available to internal Building 6 computers.
If you would like to have your portrait removed, please complete the Employee Portrait Removal Request form.
Content Accuracy
Information from the previous version of wvde.us has been migrated to the new site. In many instances, our team has refined language to meet Plain Language standards and has updated broken links. We will prioritize content-related issues prior to the hard launch.
If you encounter broken links, inaccurate information, or issues with organization, please report them through the HRMS Web Request system for review. If you do not have access to HRMS, please report your issue using the "Was this page helpful?" form at the bottom of the page where the issue exists.
Design and Feature Requests
Requests related to visual design, user experience, and new features will be categorized as "wishlist items" and reviewed in our team's product review meetings. Our team's immediate focus is on ensuring a stable and productive launch.
Please email design & feature requests to Communications.
Stability and Training Phase
Immediately beyond the hard-launch in February our team will prioritize the stability of the new site, developing operational standards, analysis of user behaviors, and the training of internal users to use new digital publishing tools.
Digital Publishing Training
Our new site contains new publishing tools which will allow WVDE employees to directly publish and manage content that they own and control. We anticipate training groups in stages so we can coach and observe as we transition to this new workflow. Additional information related to training and digital publishing will be published on the Digital Publishing landing page.
