Out-of-State Teachers

If you're a teacher in another state and would like to apply to work in a West Virginia public school, you must submit an official transcript and meet one of the following requirements:

Completed an out-of-state licensure program

To qualify, you must:

• Have completed a program at an accredited institution, which was approved by the public-school licensing agency of that state to lead to the issuance of a public school teaching certificate/license in that state, 
• Meet all WV Board of Education (WVBE) Policy 5202 requirements including all WV-required licensure assessments 
• Receive the recommendation of the preparing institution.

Reciprocity from out-of-state license 

If you have reciprocity through an out-of-state license, you must submit a copy of a valid out-of-state public-school license/certificate.
